Debutante Ball

This is my entry for Debutante Girls Plus One contest. Ed/Winry of course! ~.~ I wasn’t going to enter at first since I have soo many other projects to work on but then the idea in the 2nd panel came to me and I liked how it was different from what normally came to my mind when this challenge came up. After that idea it wasn’t too hard to be persuaded since I love drawing different outfits, especially pretty dresses! ^.^ After drawing the pair making final touch-ups before going to ball, it felt like I hadn’t done enough to win, it seemed to be missing something. So I debated and finally decided to draw the before and after to that part to add more to the drawing.

The dress, hairstyle, jewelry, are all my designs! The backgrounds are as well. They are my photographs which I manipulated in Photoshop. Don’t steal! (You can have Ed’s tux though, soo boring! I hate drawing men’s clothes! -.-) I drew everything, however the lace design was just drawn once and copied repeatedly, scanned it, and colored in PSC2.

Time-wise, I have no idea how long I spent on this, I know the contest gave us 2 months so I used it pretty much all the time I had, just on and off when I could. This was especially challenging for me since I had to draw three sets of characters and two sets had to have the same outfits just different perspectives which I suck at! -.- The original drawing and the colored version look soo different since I had to pretty much draw everything over in PS because it just looked bad, adding more to my time spent on it.

I’d love to win, of course, or at least place! I’d kill for a subscription since I’ll never get one otherwise! -.- Anyone who can, please vote for me! ~.~
